~Flashback~
Justin's fingers interlaced with mine, his fingers loosely grasping mine. I gave him a strange grin but let it go since tonight was our 5th anniversary, we've been together since 2006. I've been told that we're perfect together and that we'd be together forever. My cheeks flush every time I hear that.
"So, what do you have planned tonight? The café then a movie?" His smile formed a little shaky as he flipped his hair out of his face.
"Come on Karrie, you know I won't tell you. Give it a rest." Justin snapped, yanking his arm away from mine. I sighed, rolled my eyes, and crossed my arms. He's been like this lately, so crabby around me.
"Gosh, you don't need to be that rude." Mumbling, I tugged the leaves off of bushes near by and let them float down to my black converse.
"Excuse me," he scoffed, "what was that?" Justin stood, and crossed his arms giving me a dumbfounded look. I cringed as I opened my mouth the say 'Nothing, let's just go!', my mouth speaking otherwise.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize you have grandpa ears," I started with an evil grin, "but what I said was you didn't have to be a jerk. You should try being nicer, then you might actually have friends that like you."
"Chaz, Ryan, Caitlin, and Christian like me very much, thank you. Besides, what do you know about them? You only met them because we we're dating, remember?"
"That's funny because I know them a whole lot better, remember?" I mocked him, spinning on my heel and walking away.
"Where do you thing you're going? You can't just leave me here!"
"Oh really? I can't?" I cautiously walked backwards, making sure that I wasn't going to walk into a tree or something.
"No. I ban you from doing it." He called after me, standing in the same spot. My eyebrows raised as I chuckled.
"Oh yeah? Watch me." I faced forward and broke into a sprint, hearing him follow me as I pushed open the door to my house, slamming it, then locked it. He pounded on the door furiously and leaned against it.
"Come on Karrie, open up!"
"Go away Justin, I don't want to see you again!" I heard him sigh and stomp his foot.
"Well then, I guess we're over huh?"
"No dip!" I shouted dumbly through the door. I peeked through the peep whole and watched him rub his forehead before speaking.
"Bye. Forever..." I didn't answer but rather gazed as he slowly made his way down my steps and through the gate. Groaning, I slammed my head against the door.
~End of Flashback~
I shivered, but shook the thought out of my head as I threw the picture of Justin and I in the trash. It's been a year since that happened, and ever since that day he's called me every single day at the same time. I watched my phone as my neon clock lit up; 5 o'clock.
"Justin just please, leave me alone..." I rehearsed as today would be the first time I would actually pick up the phone.
But he didn't call.
5:05, 5:14, 5:26 all passed but still no call. I slummed in my beanbag and snapped my eyes shut as the door rang. I forced my self downstairs, ignoring the loud rain. Peering out the window, I saw nothing. My fingers grabbed the knob and swung open the door.
"Justin?"
"Karrie I just came here to let you know that I won't be calling you anymore. I have a girlfriend and I just wanted to say sorry. I only called you cause I saw you're face everywhere I looked and it was freaking me out. I also sort of thought it was a sign," he spoke quickly. My mouth was wide open, astonished. "So, bye Karrie." Justing turned, soaked, and walked down to his car.
"Justin-," I yelled but he already drove away. I scrunched my face and squeezed my eyes shut.
"Good bye."
